about

An amalgamation of avant-garde “rock” (in the loosest sense of the word) and art has long been the modus operandi of Auckland group Girls Pissing on Girls Pissing; such a union once against presents itself to the public once more as the long awaited follow-up to Eeling finally sees the light of day – Scrying in Infirmary Architecture is released on gate-fold vinyl/art book and digitally from September 4th 2015.

Having taken almost two years to complete, from the recording process with Joshua Lynn and the mastering process from Remi Salvador, through to the art direction from the band themselves with the inclusion of said art book, Scrying in Infirmary Architecture boasts not only singles “A Fraud, Abroad” and the more recent “Rainbow Islands”, but perhaps some of the more accessible works from the group who’s name dare not be uttered on commercial radio…

Those who look past the name as perhaps something to connote the idea of “mostly blokes pissing around” (to quote Everett True – The Guardian) will discover an album of otherworldly desires; traversing between transgressive (“Darwinning”), ritualistic (“Scissoring”) and gregarious (“A Fraud, Abroad”, “Rainbow Islands”), Scrying in Infirmary Architecture demonstrates a band that refuses to be confined to preconceived directions what they “should” be and instead, in pure iconoclastic fashion, rebels against music industry “dogma”.
